Ever since we got our new house, I've been so excited to glam up the fireplace with a surround. I've been looking for months at surrounds and they are $400-$1,000! That's not in our budget, so I decided to build one. I finally had a day when the growing peanut wasn't making me feel like crud so I took advantage of it!
Final cost for all materials was just over $100 :)

  1. That looks FANTASTIC! I am so impressed, and now you've got me wondering if I could do something similar in my house.

    I'm glad you're feeling a bit better!

  2. Thank you!! You know, now that it's done I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. I'm used to working with chop saws and nail guns so it was actually really easy for me. I have a double sided fireplace so if I'm feeling ok again today, I'm going to do that side later. I can take more pics to show the full process of you like :) or text me if you want to observe the putting together phase :)

    1. I'm probably too late, but I'd love to see more photos! (I'd love to observe the putting together phase, but unfortunately, my afternoons are all spoken for this week.)
